[Luckily for him, he's already removed his Shard by accident once, so it's at least something he's aware he can do. His thoughts were initially coming across more like concepts and feelings, mostly of being angry and defensive, but as he pulls his shard free they become more clear. This time it actually transmits as words!]

It's a little difficult when it comes to talking through shards, considering you have both more and less information than you get through a phone call, but there's feelings that come with the whole thing.

I'm not really sure about the details, but apparently the shards we have in our bodies let us talk to each other regardless of distance.
