KENOMA | voice, forward-dated to the onset of tdm dreams
[ Hello resident Kenomies, guess who???
Actually if you have no idea who this asshole is, that's okay, because rest assured he doesn't want to get to know most of you either. Unfortunately, business calls, and for the sake of not looking like an absolute gaggle of buffoons in front of the Regent a second time, everyone's neighborhood-(un)friendly furry is here to begrudgingly use Mind Twitter™ to make a public briefing.
It's largely voice only, because Eustace prefers to keep things impersonal, and shot through with an undercurrent of business-like terseness. ]
I'll make this quick. Many of us here don't have the experience to engage in a fistfight, let alone any sort of actual war. [ Or whatever the hell is going on here with the Regent and their plan for world destruction. ] For those of you with no combat experience but wanting to learn, Ciel and I are willing to teach you. Both of us are skilled in hand-to-hand combat, battlefield strategy, as well as various weapons. Emet-Selch has also volunteered his services, if you're looking for something outside the usual sphere.
[ Like magic, maybe.
But wait, there's more! From a different person no less. Still voice, and maybe some may recognize this one as part of a very exclusive club of Kenomas who not only did NOT get chewed out by the Regent, but also seemed to have gained their approval?? She’s sounding just as serious, but oddly also gives off the vibes of a science teacher of some sort, hm…]
I am not well placed to teach it, but I do have experience and understanding of magic. The possibilities in Horos are far greater too, the Regent themselves have said that anyone can develop powerful abilities regardless of their beginnings. According to Xishen, Aion powers don't adhere to any particular ruleset, they are mainly reflective of the person developing them: their wants, their needs, their expectations, towards themselves and the world around them. Those of us who already have supernatural powers merely retain traits we used to have in our previous lives.
Knowing that, we can help each other form ideas for personalized abilities you may wish to develop. They do not necessarily have to be combat oriented either, having combat oriented application is enough. For example, conjuring light: such a power would be most practical in navigating across low visibility spaces, but can be used to blind someone else in a pinch. Ways to harness it inwards instead of trying to influence your environment outwards can also be effective, such as reinforcing your own body to become stronger and more durable if you were mainly used to physical brawls before. Don’t be restricted by ideas of magic if you only knew it as fiction before, there’s much that can be done.
[ Eustace is happy to let Ciel explain this particular bit, because he sure as hell has no practical experience in this department. He's already moving on to cover something else anyway. ]
Additionally, preparation includes researching the opposition. If you know anything about the Pleroma, especially about any skills or powers they have, let the rest of us know.
We’ll start things off and group them by individual, prioritizing the strongest ones in combat. Please feel free to add names or faces, it’s fine if they’re a stranger as long as you remember what they look like and the powers they exhibited. I’ll be making a physical copy of notes for what we compile, it will be available to reference on demand.
[ Thanks for being the minutes keeper, Ciel. To close everything out, there's one last switch back to Eustace. ]
If you have any questions, ask.
[ There are indeed such things as stupid questions here, but at least the Regent won't be the one judging you for them. Maybe.

OOC NOTES—
TL;DR: IC training offer/regain ideas power brainstorming/Pleroma shittalking powers notes comparing 3-for-1! We can handwave the training montages, for the two other points threadjacking is highly encouraged! Pleroma info compiling will happen under its separate TL, feel free to add new TLs under that with a name or url to someone’s icon (because why bother learning what the enemy is called, right) in the subject line if it’s someone your character would ICly want to draw attention to, it’s what Ciel and Eustace are doing based after their own PVP experiences. As per mod clarification to communion, this transmission will “float” around for about a day, which should give characters the opportunity to pitch in on whatever topic they want. We hope this all made sense! Feel free to ping us in the Discord/shoot us a PM with any OOC questions.
Also just in case: black = Eustace, blue = Ciel. ]

Hey, so I was thinking, shouldn't we be trying to come up with powers that compliment each other's? That'd be the most effective.
[ She sounds so very sure of this idea... despite her claims to be completely normal, she's very energetic about this discussion. Because this is her chance to be useful to her comrades and the Regent!! It's very important!! ]
Like, I've been thinking of how I might be able to help, even if I'm no good in a physical fight. Something that would give everyone a big advantage. Kind of like a status effect or something...? Do you get what I mean? Do you think those kinds of things are helpful...? It totally would be, right? Not everyone can be a big tough guy.
[ This is about 50% her thinking this would be an awesome type of ability to have, and 50% her thinking 'there's no way in hell I'm doing pushups and actually (warrior male voice) training and fighting'. ]
no subject
I think it's a great idea, Misa-chan.
no subject
[ ideally... Kill Them™..... but she won't project that over mind twitter for now. Her enthusiasm for putting a stop to the other Aions is enough. ]
You're good at fighting, aren't you, Childe? What's a good way to weaken an opponent for you? Maybe you can give me a little inspiration, haha.
no subject
Poison like you mentioned to Eustace is always a good one! I'm a particular fan of binding magic, barrier/shield disintegrations, and anything that reduce an opponent's ability to move or strip them of any enhancement magic they may have cast on them.
Sleep magic will help protect yourself so long as you don't attack them, and while this may not be a possible one to learn here or we aions may simply be immune to it if you can... if you could temporarily lock an opponent's magical ability, even if only for a few seconds, that would be an incredible asset to everyone.
no subject
[ There's genuine awe in her voice over the line, her wide expression of wonder practically visible. She can tell just by the quick way he fires off all those possibilities that he's not bluffing - this knowledge must come from some deep experience. ]
I see, if I could just keep them from moving around long enough for you and the others to get their shards, then we'd be all set, huh? That's the kind of help I want to give. I need to do my part like you and Ciel are able to do...
[ Her words are hopeful, faithful, honest. It seems she really does have an earnest want to help in the upcoming battles despite her general fragility. ]
So I will find a way to do that. I'm sure of it. I'll become really helpful to you guys in no time.
[ She can't know the specifics for sure, but now she feels more certain that restricting the enemy's movement and strength would be the biggest benefit to her comrades. ]
no subject
Support from the backline is just as important fighting on the frontlines. [ Says someone who is usually......support..... ] Were there specific effects you were considering?
no subject
Mm, well, if I could control someone for a short amount of time... enough time for one of you to take them out. That's kinda what I was thinking?
[ Similar to the control she could take over others with her Note. It doesn't seem like an outlandish power to her - the Note could force people to do all kinds of things, why shouldn't she be able to learn such an ability here? ]
Anything that would slow them down would work, though. Like poison? I want to stop them from moving around too much. That's all we need to take their shards, anyway.
no subject
But he does file both suggestions away into a little bin for later while he thinks about the possible ways to apply them. ]
Controlling them would require you to be within close proximity of them. You're not afraid of the potential risks?
[ What about her precious Light.... ]
no subject
[ That much comes out very firm, and a few notches more serious than her typical ditzy and peppy demeanor. There's no point in hiding her motivations when this sort of thing is the basis for most who chose to go with the Regent. And, to be honest, ever since Gen insinuated that Light was already dead... she doesn't care too much if she dies in this conflict. ]
But it would be easier if someone could protect me while I do it. Like a bodyguard! I'd feel better if I could pair up with someone.
oh my god misa..............
If this is successful, we should be able to protect each other without issue.
[ He ain't gonna volunteer himself tho, sorry. Or anyone else. That's on her to find. ]

[Unlike Eustace Ciel will volunteer for anything and everything, the only downside being there's only one of her. She did agree to protect her back in the caves after all, joke or not.]

So true! I was also thinking maybe everyone should get good at disguises? There's no way we aren't going to go do spy stuff at some point.
no subject
[ For totally INNOCENT reasons......... ]
Do you think there's something like shape-shifting? It's fun and all to dress up, but there's probably some more magical way to go about it. If it's spying you want to do. I bet there's a ton of ways to put that to use....
no subject
..But what about the voice?
no subject
[ Guess who didn't think about that. There's a puzzled sort of hum that comes over the line, Misa not even attempting to stop broadcasting her clear making-it-up-on-the-spot-isms. ]
That kind of thing can be learned, right? Like training your voice. I guess if you wanted to impersonate one person really well, it would be easier... but at the end of the day, it's magic, isn't it? Maybe you wouldn't even have to worry about it!! Maybe you could make any voice you want along with.
no subject
Maybe some day we'd have to impersonate one person.. There has to be someone important with their face plastered everywhere on the other side, right?
[ Because going off of word descriptions seems rough.. Still, Misa does make a pretty consistent point. One that is still hard for her head to wrap around because.. Magic is real now. ]
Are you sure, though? Aren't there limits to magic? I feel like that's something we were taught [ An unintentional flash of movies and shows, all with their own rendition of Fairy Godmother's and their clauses. ] to consider when making deals of 'extraordinary power'.

[ Self-preservation club, go. ]
Personally, if we have several with the ability to... support our companions, we could likely have some of us spread out throughout whatever... field, or cave, we happen to get stuck in.
no subject
[ Or at least that's the sense she gets from what he's saying. She's no strategist, but it seems like common sense to have one "supporting" type person helping the people actually doing the nitty-gritty of facing off against Pleroma threats. If they're all fighters, who will help heal or do support spells? It's like a video game. ]
But, say, does this mean you've given any more thought to what kind of power you think would be helpful? Since we're having the same train of thought, hehe.
no subject
[ A pause, considering how to say it. ]
I've thought about it, yes. I used to be a purveyor, of sorts, of something that made people feel powerful. I've considered it would be useful to have that ability again.
no subject
[ That's the same thing, right?? There's genuine cluelessness to her voice. ]
Let me see, so that means you want to have something you can give to others to make them more powerful. Wait, if it's some item, you're not gonna charge us for it though, are you?
no subject
[ Industrialist certainly sounds better than drug lord. ]
Thankfully, I don't think it would be an item, if it's a power, and I'm quite certain the Regent would be cross with me, if I didn't give it freely. At least if it's needed to win against our enemies.

Willing to do whatever it takes to win, are you? That's the right attitude to have. Even if we don't die quite so easily, its not like I WANT to find out what being dissipated feels like. But you're in luck. My curses allow me to do exactly the sort of thing you're talking about.
[Her voice takes on a cruel tone.]
I am definitely not a 'big tough guy' but I guarantee you no one will be able to ignore me on the field of battle.
no subject
[ Wow, sounds cool... her inner goth is mentally nodding along in interest. Without much knowledge of magic, she assumes the other's words allude to the world of support spells, spells that aren't necessarily offensive in nature, but are impossible to ignore regardless. ]
What kind of things can they do? Slow people down? Poison them?
no subject
[There's a short pause. She does not like having to admit to being weaker.]
...Even still, you seem like you've got a mind. I don't need to explain how even as they are now they're still useful, right?
no subject
[ She repeats back, sounding just slightly offended. Not enough for her to go into petty mode, however. ]
Obviously, they're useful! If it were me, I wouldn't want to fight if I couldn't see well, or if my reaction time was bad. Anyone could figure that out! That's why I'm trying to come up with something similar.
