[As much as she struggles with it, she's slowly working towards realizing that... the cultural points and concepts that had been homogeneous across her own world (as far as it extended) could not always be applied here.

I just... Hm. It doesn't really seem accurate enough. What about "exorcist"? Did you have anything like that where you're from?

Unfortunately... I think life will be very hard for the people of these cities regardless of what we do. It seems to me like that's just one way the Regent tries to contain the damage we can cause... by trying to hold these people hostage, in a way.

there are plenty of sorcerers back home who think of rika similarly, though she technically defies the classifications of one as far as jujutsu sorcery is concerned. shikigami typically require a medium — paper talismans, shadows, strands of hair, something physical and tangible to tether them to the world and give them form. though much of her power is sealed within rika's ring under a binding vow, it isn't a medium for her form, which seems to exist invisibly around yuuta and manifests through his power. both here and back home, she's a bit of a mystery... but, then again, so is yuuta. )
