How did you find out about this? I doubt you just grabbed the crystal stuck on your body and decided to speak to everyone out of the blue.

No... you're right about that.

To be completely honest, someone I'd had a pretty friendly acquaintanceship with from the other side reached out to me. There wasn't a lot to be had from the conversation, but it did make me realize that we could do this.

But then again, so can they.

[ with the number of resources the other side has, it's no surprise that they can do this with ease. ]

I see. Have you tried reaching out again to them?

Not yet. There's a little pros and cons risk weighing I need to do first.

What were the cons you managed to come up with so far? Other than the other side listening in, the Regent possibly using it to track us down

Revealing your connections to someone else from the other side to the Regent?

The possibility of slipping up and offering more information than I should. I like to think I'm pretty careful for the most part, but it's not like I'm sort of genius of banter who can't fall into a verbal trap. I don't know if the Regent could track us down just by the two of us talking, but they might be able to if I said the wrong thing.

I suppose anything's possible, depending on who you're speaking to on the other end. And I don't recommend trusting a person enough at the moment, considering our varying affiliations.

I'd like to think that at least some of them aren't looking to immediately stab me in the back, but...

You're right, and I'm not reading to blindly trust anyone that joined hands with the Regent.

Not immediately, yes, but eventually is another story.

[ honestly, she doesn't want to risk that. as reckless as she is, she doesn't know how much of her constitution has changed in this world. ]

I will. I think it's best to know what we're up against to prevent another conflict like the last, even if we have formed connections with the other group.
