[ The voice is clear, and despite the fact that she's rarely spoken through communion, surprisingly clear, and with no lack of authority to her tone. ]

I have discovered that there are some among us who have come into some sort of magic, or abilities, since arriving. Some even have a gift from before they arrived, that has thus gone unutilitzed. [ Rand. ]

If we are to be at war -- to win against a foe with greater resources than we have, then we should utilize every advantage possible. I know I've spoken to others here, who have a great deal of competency with the arcane. I believe it would be best, if we pooled our resources, to teach those among us who are not so practiced. Whether it is powers granted in this realm, or... [ said with a bit of a laugh: ] simply magic, there are methods to make them simpler to call, or with practice, they can take less effort to use.

While I'm no professional instructor, I have advised others on the use of magic when they were new to workings before, and any sufficiently trained magister can instruct another on at least the basics, and I think we should do so before we find ourselves on the field again. Even if you are practiced with your gift, I am sure there is worth in working together, to learn how our respective talents can work together, before we allow each other to be exposed, or even worse: injured or killed.

[ A pause. ]

Consider this a...statement of intent, if you will. I normally favor staying in Godsblood, but given the...volatile nature of unpracticed magic, I think I will find myself an appropriately sized clearing near Greentruth, if others wish to join me. A scant few days of instruction, if you will. I do not think it will be hard to find, if you are in the vicinity in the next few days. If others are willing, perhaps it will be of use, to make this regular for practice.

[ ooc; I'll be intending to put up something of a loose open log for magic-based folks to collaborate/help out any characters who are just coming into new powers, want practice or instruction, or just want to strategize with magic-related combat in general later this week! ]

I understand. I've found new powers myself, since arriving here, as well. I should think that we could all use some... appropriate practice, to make these new abilities work.

Have you discovered the nature of your new... frightful powers? [ It's not quite mocking, but she's curious what he thinks is so scary about them. ]

I... Um. Well.

[This is embarrassing. He is eating his own word choice here because the powers themselves... Aren't... Well,]

I've... Figured out how to summon these odd, shimmering...

[He trails off for a second, comes back into it with more force:]

They look like bubbles. I'm not sure what else to call them, that's what they appear to be but, they seem to be more or less solid? But I can only maintain them for a little while before they burst.

What happens when they burst?

[ A pause, considering? ] Explosions...? Acid? Oh, perhaps force?

[ He'd said frightful, after all. ]

Uh... N-nothing, that I can tell.

[Truthfully, when he'd said 'burst' before, it had just felt like the right term for what happens when a bubble dissipates. He has yet to se what a real burst-- the sort that happens when one of them takes enough damage-- really looks like, since he's been rather hesitant about using the things overly much when he feels like he doesn't have a good understanding of them.

A pause, and he adds more defensively:]

...Alright so, it's less that the power itself is frightful and more the fact that it's coming from me that I take issue with.

[wolof]

Hmm, no experience with this sort of thing, hm?

You know? Perhaps a safe place to practice would be just the place to figure out what happens with those little bubbles, hm?

In my experience, unexpected powers always happen at a time where one very quickly has to figure out what they do. Perhaps it's better that you get to take the time to master it first, hm?

...Yes, that... That does make sense... Not that I have any idea how one can possibly master magic bubbles, but perhaps you all will see something about them that I can't.

[He hopes???]

...I... I get the sense that they're meant to be used to shield, or contain... But I'm not sure how that's possible when I can only keep them around for a short while.

Have you tried to stick them to things, by chance?

Stick them to things? They don't seem to be... Sticky... So I'm not sure how that'd even work...

Hm, well. Just a thought. It could be any number of things.

If you'd like, we could fling a few spells at them, a few weapons, see what happens? There's no way to truly know, without experiments, after all.

[ Does she sound excited? She sounds excited. ]

...Just as long as we're not flinging the spells and weapons at me, I think that sounds just fine.
